Espresso Macchiato

The macchiato can be made and enjoyed quickly and offers a short, intense flavour and aroma.

Ingredients

  • Coffee beans
  • Milk

Method

“Macchiato” means a shot of espresso topped with a dash of steamed milk.

  1. To prepare, steam a little milk – non dairy substitutes are fine. No froth is required for this recipe.
  2. Add an espresso shot to the glass.
  3. Sweeten if desired, and enjoy.

A macchiato differs from a latte mainly due to its size, and has a far more intense flavour. It is the perfect quick “pick me up” and allows you to really enjoy the favours of the coffee.
